Nolan has taken classes at The Gateway School for the Preforming Arts since age 6 and has recently been taking large steps in his career. As a young actor, Nolan was first cited by the New York Times in 2012 for his performance as Young Erik in The Gateway’s production of Phantom: “Nolan Lyons is heartbreaking in his portrayal of Erik…” Since that breakout appearance, Nolan has continued taking classes and was cast in the role of Chip in The Gateway’s Beauty and the Beast.

After finding a manager through an Acting School showcase, Nolan has now found success working in television dramas, appearing in an episode of NBC’s The Blacklist and was most recently cast as Young Nucky Thompson during the final season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Variety Magazine reviewed his Boardwalk Empire character “impressive,’ with his scenes lending the series some “sizzle.” The New York Times observed Nolan’s part was “well-cast,” with his portrayal of the young Atlantic City kingpin as “sweet, but intense.”
